Joe hockley is our newest rider and currently lives in Essex but Joe hasnt allways lived there. Living in cornwall for six years, Joe was lucky enough to surf everyday and surfing will always be his first love but things change. Joe moved to Essex and wanted something to channel his energy into, so he got into kitesurfing, which he felt was a good replacement but it is a hour long drive to his nearest spot so he started training on the easier moves on a landboard, soon he was having more fun on the land than on the water.

His favorite style of riding is the unhooked wakestyle, Joe says "I think I’m still a long way off getting it fully dialed because its so technical and there's no short cuts ,your either doing it right or your no where near but I also hook in allot there's so much more control for junky winds".

Joe loves to compete, But by his own addmition he is not a very competitive person, he just enjoy the events and to ride with better riders "it pushes me to improve". Joe had some good results last year and also travelled across Europe snowkiting and landboarding.

Joe rides D-EX custom carbon decks with skate trucks so loose you cant help but wonder how he stays on the board, let alone pull some of those amazing wakestyle tricks that he does with so much style. Joe is also sposered by Peter lynn kites.

"I would really like to see the sport of landboard kiting go somewhere in the future its such an amazing, and at times, a frustrating sport, I think the best is yet to come, hopefully, I’ll be a part of it" Joe
